For Naturals
How do I know my curl type and the best products for it? Use our Curl Finder Chart to help determine your curl type and the products we have designed specifically for your curls!
Is deep conditioning really necessary since I don’t put a lot of heat on my hair? Yes, deep conditioning is necessary to restructure any damage that may be caused by heat, environmental pollutants, UV rays, combing and brushing the hair.
Can Creme of Nature’s products for natural hair be used on relaxed hair? Yes, our products for naturals can also be used on relaxed hair to achieve styles such as two strand twists. Products like our hydrating Butterlicious Curls or Hair Milk will give relaxed hair style definition with no frizz.
I have serious frizz issues! How can I stop the frizz? Avoid brushing natural hair and combing as much as possible. Use a leave-in conditioner, like our Strength & Shine Dual-Action Leave-In Conditioner to detangle hair and add a layer of moisturizing protection.
Since I’ve gone natural, my hair is so hard to detangle. What am I doing wrong? Detangle hair while wet for easy detangling. Also be sure to trim your hair every 4-6 weeks, as well as deep condition with an oil-treatment. Moisturize hair as much as possible.
I really want to wear my natural curl, but feel like my hair is still too short. What can I do to elongate my curls? There are several styling techniques used to elongate or stretch curly hair. Rod your hair on perm rods, use flexi rods, straw sets or two strand twists. Check out our style gallery for more details!
My hair is always extremely dry. Help! Natural hair tends to be dry because your natural oils at the scalp generally never make it to the ends of the hair. Deep condition your hair with a moisturizing conditioner and an oil treatment together starting at the ends and work toward the scalp. Process hair with a cap or hood dyer for 20 minutes as often as needed.
What can I do to prevent breakage during the transitioning process? Wear protective styles! The weakest area of your hair during transition is where the new growth (natural hair) meets the relaxed hair. Wear rod or straw sets, wigs or braids to protect the hair from breakage during the transitioning process. Have ends trimmed every 6-8 weeks and protect the hair while sleeping with a satin pillowcase or head scarf.
Do the Creme of Nature Argan for Natural Hair products contain sulfates, parabens, mineral oil or petroleum? No, our products are free of these ingredients!
Is it safe to color my hair if I am relaxed? It is best to avoid coloring relaxed hair to avoid over-processing and potential damage. If you choose to color and relax, make sure you do your applications at least 2 weeks apart.
Can I go from black to blonde in one application? We do not recommend going from black to blonde in one application, as it can put extreme stress on the hair. Breaking the coloring process up into 2-3 stages (at least a month apart) is safer and will yield better coloring results and healthier hair.
