You can’t go wrong with this trendy technique that creates a melting effect from dark to light using 2-3 colors from our Pure Honey Hydrating Color Boost Semi-Permanent Hair Color collection.

Step 1

For maximum results and vibrant color, pre-lighten hair before applying hair color. If you have long or thick hair, you may need more than one tube of color.

Step 2

Shampoo hair with the Moisturizing Dry Defense Shampoo, then towel dry hair and squeeze out any excess water.

Step 3

Brush your hair well. Make sure that there are no tangles left in your hair. This step will make applying the color easier, but it will also help you to make sure that your hair will be evenly colored.

Step 4

Decide where you want the Royal Purple to meet your natural hair color (we suggest starting near the top of your ear). Your second color, Fuchsia, should begin near your jawline to show the contrast and have the two tones meet.

Step 5

Apply product from the tube with gloves. Spread with comb or fingers through each section, avoiding direct contact with the scalp. Be sure to fully saturate hair with the product. Do not mix with peroxide.

Step 6

Cover hair with a plastic cap and process at room temperature or with heat for 15 minutes

Step 7

Rinse hair thoroughly with warm water until the water runs clear.

Step 8

For increased moisture and softness, condition hair for 5 minutes using the Moisturizing Dry Defense Conditioner. Rinse and style as usual.

Step 9

To maintain color intensity, it is recommended to recolor every 4-6 shampoos. In between applications, use Moisturizing Dry Defense Shampoo to cleanse the hair and provide a healthy level of shine

Step 10

To maintain well-moisturized hair, use Moisturizing Dry Defense Conditioner or Moisture Replenish & Strength Hair Mask.

Step 11

To keep hair hydrated and curls refreshed, apply Break Up Breakage Leave-In Conditioner daily.
